1.4 Facilities
- La Playa is a beach house, with the view of the sea from all the classrooms, with a vast green garden
with Mediterranean and palm trees, and a swimming pool surrounding it.
- We are a young, dynamic and active language centre, with 8 indoor and outdoor

classrooms equipped with all the necessary digital devices, and teachers trained to use them and make
your class an active and modern learning experience.

La Cala del Moral is a lively seaside town which preserves the taste of
Andalusian life, with its small fishing port, bars on the beach, relaxed
atmosphere and in a close proximity (10km) to Malaga city centre. Here
you will find warm and kind people, fabulous climate and magnificent
beaches and natural parks of the shire of Axarquia.

If you come during the winter time, the climate is mild, temperatures vary
from about 13 ºC to about 23 ºC, so if you don’t like cold winters, Malaga is
the place for you in this period.
If you do like cold winter, you can combine your stay in Malaga with skiing in
Sierra Nevada, which is only 1,5 hours away, so escaping for ski weekend
is an easy option. The ski season in Sierra Nevada goes from early December
to late April.

2.1 Methodology
We offer professionalism and quality in teaching,
because we like to do things well. We carefully choose our
teachers, and we constantly do inside teacher training
(updating ourselves for new technologies, and new teaching
material).
Our methodology is based, on a personal approach and a
constant communicative practice:

COURSES

2.2 Type of courses
The School welcomes students throughout the year, arranging
high-quality Spanish courses for all ages and levels. All
courses run weekly starting every Monday.
Each Monday at 8.30am, an informal test can be taken in order
to allocate you in the group that best suits your skills.

Type of grouping:
Private/individual classes
Group class (7 students)
Mini group (3-5 students)

Semi-intensive course – 10 hours tuition per week, running 2 hours per day.
Intensive course – This is the most popular course. It is structured in 20 hours’ tuition per week
running 4 hours per day.

Super-Intensive Course – 30 hours tuition per week, running 6 hours per day.
DELE or Chamber of Commerce exam – 20 or 25 hours tuition per week will prepare you to
take the official DELE exam of Spanish as a Second Language certified by the Institute Cervantes or
Madrid’s Chamber of Commerce exam (Spanish for Business, Spanish for Health Sciences).
Combined Course – This course is a combination of Intensive course plus 5 to 10 hours' private
tuition linked to your profession, interests or a specific area of Spanish language or culture.
One-to-one course – We offer one-to-one courses which are tailored to suit your individual needs.
Teenagers Summer Camp – A Spanish course and a program full of activities for students of
Spanish from 8 to 17.

2.3 Course Levels
To determine your level prior to the course, we ask you to do an initial test on line, through our website,
or upon arrival at the school.
We follow the official reference levels of the Common European Framework of Languages and the
Curricular Plan of Cervantes Institute. The levels are the following:

A1: Beginner
A2: Elementary
B1.1: Pre-intermediate
B1.2: Intermediate
B2: Upper Intermediate

C1: Advanced
C2: Proficiency

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

3.1 Life in Andalusia
La Playa offers a wide range of extracurricular activities. Some of them are included in your inscription,
and others you’ve got to pay a little.
The activities are thematically divided into:

Cultural activities: sightseeing, visits to museums and historical monuments, caves, natural parks,
excursions to the main cities of Andalusia

Party and going out: Flamenco nights, flamenco lessons, full moon parties on the beach, Tapas
around Malaga, concerts

Food and drinks: olive oil tours, wine tasting, Spanish cuisine lessons …

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

3.2 Sports and the beach
For free (included with the inscription):

Outdoor gym,
football, basketball, voleyball, paddle, ping-pong, swimming. climbing, hiking.

Not for free (with discounts for our students): Mini-golf,
renting a bicycle, rollerskates, a boat, a kayak, a canoe, a pedal boat, playing
tennis, golf, practicing surf, paddle-surf, kite-surf, wind-surf (if the weather
conditions allow), paraglyding, snorkling, horse-riding. And of course, a live
Malaga C.F football game.
